Genealogy: Books

Searching the Library

You can find basic books on getting started with genealogy by browsing the 929.1s of our non-fiction collection or by searching our online catalog using search terms such as:

Family History | Genealogy | Genetic Genealogy | Genealogy Handbooks | Oral History

Genealogy Collection

The Central Library also houses an extensive Genealogy Collection that is available to the public for in-house use only. Our Genealogy Collection's scope is largely for states east of the Mississippi River, concentrating on the original colonial states and Florida, though we do have some materials from west of the Mississippi.
